From time to time we track down a member of IABC Lincoln and ask a few questions so you can get to know him or her better. Here we talk with Christina Krivolavek, the chapter’s 2016–2017 President and Co-Coordinator.
IABC: Who is your current employer?
I am currently employed full time by the REALTORS® Association of Lincoln.
IABC: What is your job title and what do you do?
I am the Director of Marketing and Community Engagement. I am in charge of all of their social media and coordinate their digital and print newsletter content. I am the staff liaison for the YPN, Housing Advocacy and Community Relations committees and help with event planning and fund raising.
IABC: Why did you join IABC?
My employer recommended I get involved. I love meeting new people and learning, so IABC is a great fit for me.
IABC: What area of communication are you most passionate about and why?
Right now I am completely obsessed with social media. I love trying to figure it out! I am reading like crazy about how to use it, how to master the best practices and how to build quality content for all of my different audiences.
IABC: In what areas of communication do you have experience?
I have a degree in Graphic Design and love to make things visually appealing while communicating the required message.
IABC: What do you like to do for fun?
I love to draw, watch movies and try new things.
IABC: Tell us about your family.
My husband and I have been together since 1995. We got married in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2001. We have a son, Ezven, who is 9 and he is the highlight of most of my days.
IABC: How long have you lived in the Lincoln area?
After high school I lived in Lincoln while attending Southeast Community College in Milford. After graduation we moved around and then came back to Lincoln in 2008.
